Ian Bradley from PA Consulting Group, the leading international management, systems and technology consultancy, will explain the benefits of successfully incorporating ‘non-quantifiable’ factors into the valuation of pharma licensing deals, in a paper to be given at Vision in Business’ Calculating the Value & Risk in Licensing Deals Conference in Brussels on 21 November 2002 (2.45pm).
The paper will outline the benefits of incorporating the knowledge and experience held by groups or individuals into a structured process for agreeing deal terms. This insight will be of particular value to business development managers and therapy area managers in pharmaceutical companies and their technology partners who face the challenge of making rapid deal-making decisions to meet the needs of a range of stakeholders in their organisations.
Ian will explain how businesses can put financial valuation models into perspective by understanding different kinds of decision-making criteria, identifying the risks associated with narrow approaches to valuation, and addressing the issues that cause important decisions to stall or be re-worked.
Based at PA’s International Technology Centre, Cambridge, UK, Ian is a member of PA’s Life Science group, and specialises in analytical tools and processes for business development decision support.
PA Consulting Group has expertise in strategic alliance management and partnering; commercial strategy; R&D performance improvement; manufacturing and operational excellence; and technology assessment, as well as in process and product development for pharmaceutical companies, medical device and biotechnology companies and business across the life science value chain.
