PA Consulting Group helps IT Managers tackle the maze of integration technologies
-
01 August 2002
The challenges currently faced by IT managers with integration projects are to be addressed by PA Consulting Group in a free breakfast briefing at the forthcoming Softworld Business Integration Expo event (16-17 October 2002, NEC, Birmingham, UK).
Jon Crews, a member of PA's management group, will lead the session entitled: 'Selecting and implementing a successful integration solution - a pragmatic and business-led approach'. Crews comments:
"For most IT organizations, the greatest challenge remains that of integration . Recently there has been a proliferation of technologies, techniques and acronyms that promise a solution. But given the relative immaturity of the market, how can IT managers be sure that the solution they select will deliver what the business needs? In this session, I will discuss the way to simplify technology selection by tightly aligning the process with benefits delivery, using a pragmatic and iterative approach to avoid risk in the implementation."
The session will also look at:
- A benefits-led approach to align product selection and implementation plans with business strategy
- Creating a portfolio of tools to allow rapid development and mitigate risk
- Starting small and migrating gradually - a low risk approach that releases benefits as it goes.
The breakfast briefing forms part of an overall free educational program running throughout the event. The sessions have been put together with independent industry experts such as PA Consulting Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers, BASDA and KLegal to offer visitors impartial advice on issues affecting them. Topics covered include: selecting and implementing integration technology, security within the enterprise and systems integration and the standards needed.
Softworld Business Integration Expo also features an exhibition of around 40 leading integration solutions providers such as: IBM, Attachmate, GE Global Exchange Services, SilverStream, Scala Business Solutions and Sterling Commerce.
