PA Consulting Group, the leading management, systems and technology consulting firm, is holding two events at its new Reading office to promote its wireless technology services and 3G expertise, and the employment opportunities that the facility brings. PA Consulting Group is the first world-class consultancy to establish an office dedicated to wireless technology in the area.
On Tuesday 1 May a wireless technology seminar entitled 3G Mobile – separating the reality from the hype will look at 3G technology, its applications and implementation. The session is aimed at wireless manufacturers and operators, and other multinational and hi-tech companies who can gain business advantage by adopting 3G technology speedily and effectively.
The seminar will include:
- An introductory talk – a rational assessment of 3G's capabilities and the issues involved in its development and deployment
- A snapshot of the current status of 3G and projected future developments in technology, standards and applications
- The chance to see 3G technology in action in the form of various application demonstrators and a demo of a new video transmission technology developed by PA for use with UMTS
- An opportunity to discuss particular industry requirements with PA Group's 3G experts.
It will be held at PA's Reading office located at Thames Valley House, 400 Thames Valley Park Drive in the Thames Valley Park. The event will start at 6.00pm and run until approximately 8.30pm. As no booking is required, attendees are requested to arrive promptly at 5.30pm. For further directions, please call Reg Hannam on +44 (0)1763 267492.
A wireless technology recruitment open evening is being held on Tuesday 8 May from 5.30 to 8.30pm, also at the Thames Valley Park office. It will provide an opportunity for visitors to gain an overview of PA's global structure, activities, culture and its wireless expertise – which will be explained through informal discussion and technology demonstrations.
PA's wireless technology consultants and HR personnel will be available to outline current and future employment opportunities at the Reading office and to discuss, in confidence, how potential applicants might fit in. Information packs will also be available.
PA Consulting Group was recently voted one of The Sunday Times' '50 best companies to work for – 2001'– which was predominantly based on a random survey of PA employees. PA scored well in all three assessment areas: benefits, respect and pride.
